How GambleGum makes money
Reading GambleGum costs nothing, and we will never put a review behind a login. Somebody still pays for the testing, the terms-reading and the constant updating, and in our case that somebody is mostly the casinos themselves, through referral commission. Here is the mechanism, laid bare.
Commission, explained
GambleGum has signed up to the referral schemes run by many of the operators reviewed here. When a reader clicks across, registers and funds that new account, the casino may credit us. Some schemes pay a fixed fee per depositing newcomer, some pay a revenue share, a percentage of what those players go on to lose, for months afterwards, and some blend the two. Rankings, reviews and links are not for sale on GambleGum in any form.
Your side of it
You pay nothing. Commission is a marketing cost the operator carries. A GambleGum visitor and someone who typed the casino's URL by hand see the identical welcome package, playthrough and cash-out limits. Should a brand ever offer our readers a weaker deal than its own front page shows, please tell us.
Recognising a tracked link
Buttons labelled Play now, Claim bonus or Visit casino route through gamblegum.com/go/ before landing on the operator's site. The hop lets the casino see the visit came from GambleGum and drops two short-lived technical cookies, both described in our cookie table. A link to a regulator, a helpline, a studio or a newsroom carries no referral code at all.
Why a bigger cheque does not mean a higher spot
Every brand faces one scorecard before it can be listed, and a promotion whose terms are not published clearly is left out however rich the payout to us. Being straight about the catch: we can only link to operators whose referral schemes have approved GambleGum, so our lists reflect our partners rather than the whole market open to Canadians. If two brands finish neck and neck, the one whose offer suits Canadian players better may edge ahead, and the review gives the reason.
Partners get demoted too
Ownership, payment processors and rules change hands all the time. A partner that starts stalling payouts, toughens its bonus conditions or loses its licence gets its review rewritten and may slide or disappear from our lists, signed agreement or not. When a scheme closes or a brand shuts down, its /go/ link comes down with it.
No bounty for writers
None of our reviewers earns more because a page they wrote produced sign-ups. Partnership deals are managed separately from editorial work. Operators get no preview of a review and no veto over its words. They can flag a factual slip like anyone else, and once verified it is fixed.
