GambleGum is free to read, and nobody pays a subscription to open a review. The site is kept going by commissions from some of the online casinos it writes about. This page explains how that arrangement works, where it shows up on gamblegum.com and what it does not change. Read it together with our disclaimer, the terms and conditions and the privacy notice, which covers the cookies set when you follow a casino link.
Who pays us, and for what
GambleGum has affiliate agreements with a number of online casino operators and with the networks that represent them. When you go from our site to one of those casinos, open an account and play there, the operator may pay us a commission: sometimes a single fee for a new depositing player, sometimes a share of what the casino earns from that account over time. The terms differ from brand to brand, and they are agreed between companies; you never sign anything with us.
We do not take payment for a review itself, for a higher score or for leaving a complaint out of a review. An operator cannot buy a rewrite of something we have published.
It costs you nothing extra
Signing up through one of our links does not make a deposit dearer or a bonus smaller. The welcome offer, the wagering requirement, the withdrawal limits and the fees are the ones the casino publishes for every player from your province, whichever way you arrive at the casino.
Where the affiliate links are
Commission-earning links sit in three places on the site:
- the casino tables on our top lists and bonus pages, including every Visit or Get bonus button;
- the operator reviews under Casino reviews, in the buttons at the top and bottom of each review;
- the offer bar that can appear at the bottom of the screen on some pages.
All of them point to an address that begins with gamblegum.com/go/ and are marked as sponsored for search engines. That short hop is how the operator knows a player came from us. Ordinary links in an article, to a regulator, a help line, a game studio or a news source, go straight to that website and earn us nothing.
Partners in rankings and featured spots
Most of the brands in our casino tables are operators we have an agreement with, because a table exists to send readers somewhere they can actually sign up. The order of a table, the brand in the offer bar and the casino named first in a guide are an editorial choice. A commercial deal can be the reason a brand is listed at all; it is not a way to jump the queue past a casino that treats Canadian players better. We drop operators that stop paying out on time, change their terms against players or stop taking customers from Canada, even when that costs us income.
How we keep reviews independent
The people who write and update reviews look at what a reader can check: who holds the licence, which provinces are accepted, the full bonus terms, the payment methods and how long withdrawals take. Who the operator pays, and how much, is not part of that picture. You can read more about the team and how the site is run on About us.
Your part
Casinos change their offers often, and a figure on our page can be a few days behind. Before you deposit, read the bonus terms and the general terms on the casino's own site, and make sure online play is open to residents of your province. Gambling is for adults: 19+ in most of Canada, 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. If it stops being fun, our responsible gambling page lists free help in every province.
Changes to this page
When our agreements or the way links work on the site change, we update this disclosure and the date at the top of the page.
